About
As an AuDHD PDAer herself, Dr Joey Lawrence brings deep personal understanding and lived experience to her work. A passionate advocate for neurodiversity, she is committed to affirming care that respects and values each individual’s unique way of being. She approaches differences with curiosity, viewing them as opportunities to better understand a person’s distinct experience of the world.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr Joey is an active voice in the neurodivergent community. Her TikTok account @nd_psych - where she shares advocacy, lived experience, and professional insights - has amassed over 30 million views and 5 million likes. She has been invited to speak at public panels and on podcasts, has collaborated on courses, and is on the committee for the 2025 Neurodivergence Wellbeing Conference (NWC).
With years of experience as a Clinical Psychologist, Dr Joey embodies humility, respect, and acceptance in her work. She is deeply engaged in the latest advancements in cognitive neuroscience, clinical psychology, and neurodiversity-affirming care. She is also in the final stages of becoming a Clinical Neuropsychologist and is excited to offer neuropsychological assessments to further support neurodivergent clients.

Dr Joey’s approach is client-centred, process-based, and always neurodiversity-affirming. She integrates various therapeutic modalities, including EMDR and parts work, to tailor support to each client’s needs. She has a particular interest in neuropsychology, neurodivergent trauma, and autonomy-based approaches, always striving to create a space where clients feel truly seen and understood.
