neurodiversity-affirming Assessments

Discover your unique neurotype.

A neurodiversity assessment is a powerful tool for self-discovery and empowerment. We work collaboratively to help you understand your brain, strengths, and challenges. Whether you’re seeking a diagnosis, wanting to explore overlapping neurodivergent traits, or looking for tailored strategies, our assessments provide personalised insights and recommendations that align with your needs.

Our assessments include comprehensive documentation, serving as a detailed personal record. This documentation can also support self-advocacy and access to services such as NDIS, DSP, and workplace or educational accommodations. We offer different reports tailored to various needs, including diagnostic reports, NDIS evidence reports, and personalised neurodivergence reports.

Our approach

Our assessments are built on the principles of collaborative therapeutic assessment, meaning we take a holistic, person-centred approach instead of simply ticking off a list of 'symptoms.' Our goal is to provide valuable insights that enhance self-awareness, promote affirmation, and meaningfully contribute to your therapeutic journey.

We create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your neurodivergence without pressure or expectation. Our process includes both qualitative and quantitative methods, using standardised tests carefully selected for neurodivergent identification. Combined with in-depth interviews, these assessments help us understand your unique neurotype and, where relevant, provide a formal diagnosis.

Our clinicians consolidate this information into a comprehensive formulation - a personalised overview of your neurodivergent profile, along with tailored recommendations. Throughout the process, you remain in control, with the ability to pause, slow down, or ask questions at any time.
We also offer post-assessment processing sessions, recognising that the diagnostic journey itself can bring up additional support needs.

report types

Our assessments include a range of documentation tailored to different needs and goals. After your assessment, you can choose a report that aligns with your objectives, whether for personal insight, diagnosis, or formal support. These documents can serve multiple purposes, including:

  • Serve as formal documentation of your diagnosis (if applicable).
  • Provide a detailed personal record of your assessment journey.
  • Help you process and reflect on your assessment results.
  • Detail your assessment scores and their meanings.
  • Support self-advocacy efforts.
  • Assist in accessing services like NDIS, DSP, and workplace adjustments.

Our clinicians will help determine the best report type(s) for you, ensuring they align with your goals. Use our pricing calculator to estimate costs or contact us for more details.

Diagnostic Report

This is our standard assessment report and requires a minimum of three one-hour sessions, including feedback. It provides formal confirmation of any neurodivergent diagnoses, offering key background information, a summary of assessments completed, personalised recommendations for providers and self-support, and a complete breakdown of test results with explanations of their relevance to you.

NDIS Evidence Report

This report is designed for clients who have either completed a diagnostic assessment with Neudle or can provide evidence of an existing diagnosis. It is tailored to NDIS Access Requests and includes an in-depth analysis of functional capacity, a breakdown of support needs requiring NDIS funding, completion of our section of the NDIS Access Request Form, and therapeutic guidance around the application process. This service typically requires an additional session (four total), though this may be reduced if you have an existing diagnosis.

Personalised Neurodivergence Report

This qualitative report provides a detailed, descriptive insight into your neurodivergent experience. It explores sensory, cognitive, social, emotional, and communication dimensions, examines burnout and masking cycles, and highlights unique neurodivergent traits such as over-excitabilities, giftedness, or monotropism. Unlike the diagnostic and NDIS reports, this report does not provide a formal diagnosis but serves as a valuable tool for self-understanding and advocating for tailored support in therapeutic settings.

Additional Documentation

We can provide supporting letters for various purposes, including Disability Support Pension (DSP) applications, university accommodations, workplace adjustments, and other advocacy needs. These documents are customised to your situation and can be discussed with your clinician during the assessment.

process

01

Intake

Your first Telehealth session is an opportunity to get to know each other. We’ll discuss your goals, needs, and expectations, ensuring the process is tailored to suit you. Together, we’ll map out a personalised assessment plan, including session timelines and the tools we’ll use.
02

assessment

Over at least two sessions, we’ll explore how your brain works using a combination of conversation and structured assessments. We’ll examine communication styles, thought patterns, coping mechanisms, and daily life experiences - without pressure or judgment.
03

FEEDBACK

In your final session, we’ll go through your results together, including any formal diagnoses (if relevant). We’ll discuss what the findings mean, how they align with your experiences, and potential next steps.
04

REPORT

If you choose to obtain a report, your clinician will begin compiling it after your feedback session. Our reports are highly detailed and take time to ensure accuracy and personalisation - your clinician will provide an estimated timeframe for completion.

You can also access post-assessment processing sessions after your feedback session. Many people find this helpful, as it allows additional time to process the assessment and then focus on implementing recommendations with greater clarity.
