about neudle

We live neurodiversity.

About

A neurodivergent-led psychology practice.

Founded by Clinical Psychologist Dr Joey Lawrence, Neudle was created from a deep understanding of the challenges neurodivergent people face in a neurotypical world. As a neurodivergent person herself, Dr Joey saw the urgent need for an affirming approach - one that celebrates strengths, respects differences, and provides real support.

At Neudle, we offer a safe, validating space where neurodivergent people can access the care they deserve. Our skilled, neurodivergent and neurodiversity-affirming team is committed to providing meaningful support that empowers you to thrive. Looking ahead, we remain dedicated to advocacy, expanding access to affirming care, and fostering a society that truly embraces neurodiversity.

perspective

Affirmation is at the core of everything we do.

As a neurodivergent-led practice, we reject the notion that neurodivergence is something to 'fix.' Instead, we recognise it as a natural variation in human cognition - one that deserves understanding, support, and accommodation. Navigating a neurotypical world can be challenging, and our role is to help you understand your neurotype, develop effective supports, and build a life that works for you.

Many of the barriers neurodivergent people face stem from societal expectations rather than individual shortcomings. That’s why we don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, we work collaboratively, meeting you where you are and respecting your autonomy, needs, and lived experience.

approach

Support that meets you where you are.

We prioritise validation, self-advocacy, and personal growth. Our approach is collaborative, helping you develop strategies that align with your strengths and values. Rather than encouraging masking or suppressing neurodivergent traits, we support authenticity - embracing natural behaviours like stimming and working with you to set meaningful, affirming goals.

Our services are primarily delivered via Telehealth, making neurodiversity-affirming care accessible to individuals across Australia. We believe that location should never be a barrier to getting the support you deserve.

values

Our values guide every aspect of our work.

We're committed to providing high-quality, affirming mental health care that celebrates diversity, promotes inclusivity, and empowers every individual to embrace their authentic selves.

doing good (beneficence)

Everything we do is driven by a desire to do right by our clients, make a positive difference in the lives of neurodivergent people, and create a more accepting and accommodating world.

not harming (trauma-informed)

We personally understand the trauma inherent to neurodivergence. Our trauma-informed approach prioritises safety, trust, choice, collaboration, empowerment, and respect for diversity, ensuring that our services are a source of healing.

speaking out (advocacy)

We are passionate advocates for the rights and well-being of the neurodivergent community. We speak out against injustice and work tirelessly to create a more inclusive, accommodating society.

Transformation (innovation)

We're not afraid to challenge the status quo and drive meaningful change to better support the neurodivergent community. We provide a much-needed alternative to traditional approaches that often fail to meet the needs of neurodivergent people.

Realness (Authenticity)

We show up and we celebrate authenticity in all its forms. We create a space where our clients and team members can unmask and be their authentic selves, knowing that they will be met with understanding, respect, and acceptance.
